West Side is typically where people warm up for an evening on Pleasure Island, but there are several attractions in the West Side merit the trip on their own.

One of the main attractions on the West Side is DisneyQuest, an incredible interactive attraction that has five levels of high tech entertainment. Check out the official DisneyQuest site at  <<www.disneyquest.com>>

The other main attraction on the West Side is La Nouba, a new show created for Disney by Cirque du Soliel. This terrific show is housed in a huge building that looks like a circus tent. Tickets are available at the gate or by calling (407) 939-7600. Call ahead for showtimes.

If you want to see a movie while you're in Orlando, the AMC 24 Theaters Complex is the place to go. It's probably at least twice as nice as your hometown theater. There are huge screens, a state of the art sound system and really comfortable stadium style seating. It's the largest theater complex in the Southeast and is the best movie theater our editors have ever visited.

If you think bigger is better, you'll love the West Side's Planet Hollywood. It's a massive branch of the celebrity owned chain that is is built into a 95 foot tall sphere. When the lines for the restaurant extend out the front door, (as they often do) it looks like the people are boarding a huge space-craft.

The other celebrity-owned theme restaurant in the West Side is the House of Blues. Besides delicious southern style cooking, the House of Blues serves up some great live entertainment every night. Sunday Gospel Brunch is particularly popular. Call (407) 934-BLUE for information of check out the official site at

>>

Not to be left out, Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio have opened Bongos Cuban Cafe, a fun restaurant that features the cuisine and Latin rhythms of Cuba. If that's not enough, go to the Wolfgang Puck Cafe, featuring the cuisine of the famous chef.

In addition to great food and attractions, the West Side offers yet another opportunity to do some shopping. You can pick out a couple of fine cigars at the Sosa Family Cigar store or get the latest releases from the Virgin Megastore.

After 6 PM, go to the House of Blue to take a ferry to the Rainforest Cafe in the Market Place.
