The Land, the largest pavilion in Future World, is a tribute to food and
farming. It went through a renovation in 1994 and serves both as a theme park attraction
and a science experiment in agriculture and hydroponics.
Living with the Land: This attraction showcases the history and future of
agriculture. It takes guests on a slow moving boat ride through different climates and
environments for farming. A tour guide on the boat details hydroponics experiments, fish
farms and innovative greenhouses. Much of the produce and fish grown in these greenhouses
and farms is served in the full service restaurants around the park. The ride is
fascinating and informative, but it's another "kids may not be too interested"
educational attraction. 13 minutes.
Food Rocks: Audio animatronic food and cooking utensils are featured in a
lighthearted rock concert with an eat healthy foods message. Characters such as Pita
Gabriel, Chubby Cheddar and Neil Moussaka sing fast paced songs, and the variations on
famous tunes are clever and entertaining. 13 minutes.
Harvest Theater: "The Circle of Life," a 70-mm film shown here,
features "Lion King" characters Simba, Timon and Pumbaa discussing the
relationship between man and his environment. The characters explore the delicate balance
that must be maintained between the Earth's creatures and the land.
The movie is entertaining, and it does a good job of discussing this serious topic. Some
of the footage in "The Circle of Life" comes from the movie that previously
played here, "Symbiosis." 20 minutes.
DINING: The Garden Grill Restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
revolves above the Living with the Land attraction and features family style character
dining. The Sunshine Season Food Fair is a large counter service food court featuring
sandwiches, salads, barbecue, pasta, ice cream, bakery, beer and wine. With many tables
and lots of variety, a good place to go if you want fast food. The Living Seas offers The
Coral Reef (lunch and dinner): Full service restaurant featuring fresh seafood and a
beautiful underwater view of the aquarium. |
